Digital Art

Digital art is an art created on a computer, in digital form. Digital art can be purely computer generated. The term ‘digital art’ is actually reserved for that art which has been non-trivially modified by a computing process. Digitized text data and raw audio and video recordings are not usually considered as digital art, but those can be part of the larger project of digital art.

The accessibility and attractiveness of photograph manipulation, software has engendered a vast and creative record of highly customized images. Even you can find many of them bearing little or no hint of the original image.

Using electronic versions of brushes filters and enlargers, graphic designers produce images, which was unattainable through conservative photographic tools. More over, digital artists may influence many other extensions of art namely,

  • Scanned drawings,
  • Paintings,
  • Collages or
  • Lithographs etc.

3D graphics are created via the process of designing complex images from geometric shapes, to create realistic 3 dimensional shapes or objects. This kind of digital art works for various media such as film, television, print, rapid prototyping and the special visual effects. There are many software programs for doing this 3D graphics. The mainstream media uses a lot of digital art in advertisements also.

Never the less, digital art is yet to gain the acceptance and regard for serious art forms such as

  • Sculpture,
  • Painting and
  • Drawing.
  • Dragon Art

Dragon absorbs a very important place in Chinese mythology and it shows up in arts, literature, poetry, architecture, songs, and many aspects of the Chinese ethics. The Dragons are semi-devine snakes with human faces and ophidians' tails. Dragon art of China is very popular. The origin of Chinese dragons is unknown. Nobody really knows where the dragon comes from.

In China dragons are know as Lung. To the Chinese, the Imperial Dragon or Lung is considered to be the primary of four generous spiritual animals. The other three animals are the phoenix , the unicorn and the tortoise. Having unequaled wisdom and power the dragon symbolized the Emperors of China themselves. They were actually called dragons. To differentiate the Chinese imperial dragon from all other dragons, only the Imperial Dragon bore five claws.

There are four main kinds of Lung whom you can find in Dragon Art too. They occupy palaces in the watery region under the earth. They are divided into four classes: heavenly, divine, earthly, and hidden, depending upon their function. Namely,

  • The Celestial Dragon or Tien-lung. They protect the places of the Gods.
  • The Spiritual Dragon or Shen-Lung who controls the wind and the rain.
  • The Earth Dragon or Ti-Lung who controls rivers, and water on the Earth.

The Underworld Dragon Fut's-Lung who guards precious metals and gems.

The dragon looks like a combination of many animals. In the Chinese dragon art, Dragons were described visually as a compound of parts from nine animals, namely,

  • The horns of a deer
  • The head of a camel
  • The eyes of a devil
  • The neck of a snake
  • The abdomen of a large cockle
  • The scales of a carp
  • The claws of an eagle
  • The paws of a tiger; and
  • The ears of an ox.

In Burma , the Nagas Dragon art combine elements of the dragon, snake, and crocodile, and give rubies to those they favor.
