The hand carved Ram Durbar in Kadam wood shows the idols of Ram, Lakshman, Sita and Hanuman. Ram and Sita are in a blessing position while Hanuman is seated with folded hands. His mace (gada) is placed on the ground and he offers prasad to his lord Ram.
About Ram
Lord Rama holds a prominent position in Hindu gods. Considered as an avatar (incarnation) of Vishnu he is the embodiment of truth, morality, the ideal son, and the ideal husband. He along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman spent 14 years in exile. During this period he had to wage war against Ravana, the evil king of Lanka who had abducted his wife. In this battle he was helped by Hanuman-the monkey faced god and a devoted disciple of Rama.
