Dushahra: It's a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated in all the parts of India.It's celebrated with huge verve and fervor in Kullu, Vranasi, Mysore and Kolkata.. Durga Puja or Kali Puja is celebrated these days. The last day of This festival is known as Vijayadashmi, It's celebrated as a symbol of Victory of Lord Rama over Ravana or vidctory of Good over evil. Ramlila and other processions are observed in this festival all over India .

The effigy of Ravana is burnt on the last day. People celebrate Dushahra with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Gandhi Jayanti: Gandhi Jayanti or birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is celebrated on 2 nd October every year. National holiday is observed and many processions to commemorate this day are organized all over the country. People offer floral tributes to him in his samadhi at Rajghat. Several meetings are also organized to discuss the Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi.

Kullu fair: A fair is held in Kully valley of Himachal Pradesh. This is observed with great fanfare coinciding with the Dushahra festival.

Id-ul-Fitr: This is an important fetival of Muslims. This is celebrated at the end of the Month of Ramadan or Ramzan when moon is sought. In the month of Ramadan Muslims observe fast or Rozé. At the end of the month of fasts it's the day to have feasts.
