The name of Shaggy rugs has come from the shaggy look that the carpets have. They have a fluffy appearance and are soft to touch. Types of Shaggy Rugs

There are 3 main types of Shag rugs.

• Long Shag – The length of these rugs were as long as the length of the yarns that was a special aspect of shag rugs especially in the earlier years of 1900s.
• Short Shag – The length of this is half of that of the long shag even though it follows the same pattern of design.
• Mini Shag –This is available in a longer length than a standard pile.

Shaggy rugs are available in a variety of shapes and sizes which happens to be one of its special features. They are available in very small sizes to fit in small places as well as available in wall carpeting that covers a large area.
