Standing Ganesha Statue

The bejeweled, plump bellied Ganesha holding a sweet ( modak) in left front hand and his broken tusk in right front head is standing on an ornate pedestal.

The intricate carving shows the facial expression, the folds of the garment, the jewels and the associated accessories of the image in detail.

About Ganesha

Ganesha is one of the most widely worshipped Hindu Gods.

His is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He wears a snake as an ornament around his belly and is depicted in a seated, standing or dancing posture. Generally, considered as a bachelor he is represented as a bestower of two Shaktis- Siddhi and Buddhi. It is considered auspicious to worship him at the start of any action or venture.
